Why Boomer loved playing with Byron Pickett
When Boomer Harvey was asked to rank his top 3 North Melbourne players during his playing days, the first three names he mentioned were to be expected.
Carey, Stevens and Archer.
However he did want to make mention of another player, Byron Pickett.
‘I absolutely loved playing with him,’ Harvey told Sports Today.
‘If I got tagged… He used to look at me and say ‘hey mate, run him past me’. Even if he didn’t do anything, it scared the crap out of the guy I was playing on!’
Harvey breaks the AFL games record this weekend against St Kilda, surpassing Michael Tuck’s current record of 426 games.
