A political marketing guru says brands and businesses need to be “careful” while advocating a ‘Yes’ vote at the upcoming referendum.

“They want to be seen as being a brand which stands up for social values and taps into the community and is listening to the community,” Dr Andrew Hughes told 3AW Drive on Friday.

Tom Elliott says he finds that odd, given it looks likely the ‘No’ vote will in fact win the referendum. And it’s for that reason Dr Hughes says they need to be careful.
