Major Brendan Nottle from the Salvation Army is walking to Canberra.

Yes, walking.

He wants to raise awareness about homelessness and the impact it’s having on society.

“I just feel it’s the right thing to do,” he told Neil Mitchell.

He wants to give a voice to the “voiceless.”

“People are so focused on themselves,” Mr Nottle said.

“It’s time we started looking out for each other.

“Australia is at its best when we start to look out for each other.”

His 703 kilometre trek will take 40 days.

He leaves on September 9.
