Cattles price are starting to drop following record prices during the COVID pandemic, but it doesn’t mean meat prices will drop with it.

CEO of the Australian Meat Industry Council, Patrick Hutchinson, explained the drop in cattle prices and the reasons why the prices were so high in the first place.

Mr Hutchinson claimed some young cattle being sold to other farmers were going for $11 per kilo, but have now dropped in recent times.

“Live stock prices have come back 25 per cent from where they were across the board which was Australian record levels,” Mr Hutchinson told 3AW Breakfast.
