Tom Elliott is concerned by the latest data showing almost half of year nine boys are struggling with grammar and punctuation.

The data, which comes from this year’s NAPLAN results, has prompted the Mornings host to point out people care more about things happening overseas than they care about Victoria’s education system.

“We obsess about Palestine … yet we don’t seem to worry about the fact 44 per cent of 15-year-olds fail basic grammar and punctuation,” he said.
