Why experts are pushing for a national blanket ban on phones in schools

Experts are calling for a nationwide ban on mobile phones in schools, with concerns over children are struggling with basic skills in the classroom.

Senior lecturer in psychology at the University of Sunshine Coast, Rachael Sharman, says she agrees with the ban.

“If anyone needs desperately to contact someone, they can certainly go up to the office and use the phone like everyone used to,” she told Ross and Russel.
