‘It sounds like politics’: Fiona Patten weighs in on random drug testing in parliament
Reason Party leader and former state government MP Fiona Patten is hesitant to support calls to introduce random drug testing in parliament.
Ms Patten admits the culture of alcohol in particular is “quite pervasive” in parliament, but is not sure drug testing is the answer.
“It sounds like politics,” Ms Patten told Neil Mitchell.

Liberal MP for North Eastern Metropolitan Region, Nick McGowan, will introduce a motion for a committee to be formed to explore an illicit drugs policy for all MPs.
“I would hope that colleagues support this,” Mr McGowan told Ross and Russel.
