New research shows that a hybrid work model, where employees spend some time in the office and some at home, will be favoured by businesses going forward as in-office work returns.

Swinburne University researchers surveyed a wide range of leaders in Australian business about the future of work, and found a hybrid model will be most popular.

Researcher Dr John Hopkins told 3AW Breakfast it will benefit both employers and employees.

“A lot of research actually says productivity went up during COVID,” he said.

“When people are happier they’re more productive and more engaged and feel closer to their organisations.”
