Australia’s reputation for having strict COVID-19 restrictions is still scaring some international visitors off, industry insiders say.

Freya Higgens-Desboilles, Senior Lecturer in Tourism Management at the University of South Australia, told Tom Elliott tourists in America and Europe were understandably more conservative when it came to making travel decisions in the current climate.

“Australia is such a long way to go to encounter difficulty,” she said.
