A growing number of students are being home-schooled, with Tom Elliott wondering whether remote learning during COVID lockdowns has contributed to the rise.

“The numbers have doubled in the last 10 years, up to 2021, and there has been a significant rise in this last year that we’re hearing, although the figures aren’t officially available yet,” Kirsty James, Committee Member at the Home Education Network, told 3AW Drive.

Kirsty James said negative school experiences, plus special needs, were often factors when parents decided to keep their children at home.
