More women are moving to IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) to have children, which led Tom Elliott to question whether there is a “male drought” in Australia for these women.
Data from the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) shows from 2008 to 2020, the number of rounds of IVF and donor insemination by single women more than doubled from 1,171 to 2,385.
The 3AW Drive host spoke to Social Researcher at McCrindle, Mark McCrindle, on why this is the case and the “demographic reality” of why there are actually more women in society than men.
