The AEMO has warned of the risk of power blackouts this summer in New South Wales and Victoria.

Deputy executive director at the Institute of Public Affairs, Daniel Wild, says the fundamental issue is the move away from power sources like coal.

“Governments have not been investing in the existing system … because they want to move to a different system, but the different committee is falling over,” he told Tom Elliott.

He also says there’s not enough science taken into consideration.

“There’s been a bit too much ideology,” he added.
