Why opposition leader was booted from parliament
Victorian opposition leader Brad Battin was kicked out of parliament after taking Premier Jacinta Allan to task over her approach to the state’s crime crisis.
Mr Battin was dismissed from the chamber after accusing the speaker of “silencing the opposition”.
After an eventful day in parliament, he told Jacqui Felgate that he was determined to stand up to the Premier after two teenagers were allegedly killed by a machete-wielding gang over the weekend.

“We are getting more and more frustrated,” he said on 3AW Drive.
“Jacinta Allan has no answers when it comes to crime – we can’t come into this parliament and have the government avoid these answers.”
