The Victorian Farmers Federation is calling on the Victorian Parliament to launch a public inquiry into the condition of regional roads.

President of the federation, Emma Germano, says regional Victoria has had it with the condition of the roads.

“Our roads are crumbling and we know that there’s less and less money being spent on roads particularly out in the regions despite all the cost blowouts that are unexplained from the metropolitan road projects that go on and on,” Ms Germano told Neil Mitchell.

Ms Germano said the Victorian Liberal party has put in a motion for a public inquiry but suspects she knows what the inquiry will say.

“All I think it’s going to tell us is that we’ve had a government who hasn’t spent decent money out in the regions on the roads for a really long time,” she said.
