Why reports about devalued qantas points are ‘technically’ accurate

It’s been reported Qantas frequent flyer points are so devalued, the points needed to fly a return first-class to London now will only get you a one-way flight to Beirut.

Frequent flyer expert, Daniel Sciberras, says he takes issue with the report.

“It is accurate, technically … you’re comparing 1996 to 2023 … if someone wants to offer me a brand new car at 1996 prices, I’d be more than happy to say yes,” he told Ross and Russ.
