Why residents are opposing the redevelopment of a golf course in Melbourne’s south-east

Residents are opposing a move to turn the Kingswood Golf course into 800 homes after it was bought by AustralianSuper in 2014.
President of the Save Kingswood group, Kevin Poulter, says over 8000 residents are opposing the planned redevelopment which sits on a flood plain.
“I have presented files to Melbourne Water showing the millions of litres that the developer has not taken into account … we already flood and I’ve got hundreds of photos showing the floods both on the course, and on the main street, and other areas in Dingley Village,” he told Tom Elliott.
