RUMOUR CONFIRMED

Undrinkable told the Rumour File residents in Frankton South, served by a southeast utility, have received letters warning them to boil their water before drinking it.

South East Water Spokesperson Karen Lau has told 3AW Breakfast, the notice was issued overnight after water pressure dropped throughout yesterday.

“Without that pressure pushing outwards, there is a risk that some water that happens to be in the surrounding ground could come in through the pipes … We are still sampling and flushing the network just to make sure,” she said.
