Why some Victorian election votes are still being counted
A big drop in Victorian voting majorities has driven the delays in sorting seats.
But it should all be finalised today.
Marie Guerin, manager of communications at the Victorian Electoral Commission, told 3AW almost twice as many seats needed preference distribution to find a winner, than the last election.
“Back in 2018, we only had to do preference distribution for 48 seats, but this year it is over 70,” she said.
