Why SRL hub is costing as much as major New York train station

A major train hub in Melbourne’s west is costing as much as New York’s new World Trade Centre underground station.

According to The Age, costs for Sunshine Station – which will become a Suburban Rail Loop and airport rail hub – have blown out to $4 billion.

Journalist Chip Le Grand told Ross and Russ why the transport hub in Sunshine has become so expensive to build.

“There’s a lot going on there and there’ll be more going on there when the Airport Rail (opens),” he said on 3AW.
