Why the ACA won’t mandate COVID-19 vaccination for cricketers

Jimmy Bartel

The head of the Australian Cricketers’ Association says they won’t be forcing the country’s cricketers to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

And Todd Greenberg told 3AW it had worked, with almost every professional cricketer, male and female, having received at least one dose of a vaccine.

“We are well past 90 per cent fully vaccinated,” he said.

Greenberg said the sport’s policy had been well-received.

“We are just of the firm view that trying to push something onto somebody, and mandating it, won’t probably get you the result you’re looking for,” he said.
