The Australian College of the Arts is calling for the ATAR system to be scrapped.

Sam Jacobs, CEO of the Australian College of the Arts, told 3AW Breakfast, “[ATAR] privileges one kind of success and it doesn’t predict who’s going to pass university and go on and have a successful career.”

As the world moves towards heavier use of AI, the Australian College of Arts has called for a shift of focus towards creativity, saying “it’s one of the top skills predicted for 2030”.
