Why the Brits are backing the Matildas ahead of semi-final match against England

The Matildas have made history by making it to the semi-final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and gained millions of Australian fans, but they’ve also gained some British fans.

Lucie Morris-Marr, originally from England, says she’s supporting the Matildas because they’re “inspirational”.

“… They’re incredible role models for this country and for young people,” she told Tom Elliott.
