Why the cost of car insurance is skyrocketing

The increasing cost of repairs is the main reason car insurance has skyrocketed.

Tom Elliott was shocked to learn he’d be paying 30 per cent more for car insurance than last year.

David Keys, director at insurance broker AB Phillips, told 3AW it was an unfortunate situation.

“There are several factors that are causing the substantial increase,” he said.
