A survey by the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has found an overwhelming majority of employers agree work experience is important, but less than 20 per cent hosted students.

Career and interview coach and founder of Relaunch me, Leah Lambart says, work experience is important, and helps students figure out if the job they want to pursue is one they’ll actually enjoy, but the number of businesses who offer it is decreasing.

“It has become very difficult for high school students trying to get work experience and even more difficult for people trying to get work experience and internships while they’re at uni,” she told Tom Elliott.
