Why the time has come for Australia to embrace nuclear power

Pressure is growing on Australia to embrace nuclear energy as a power source, especially given the fresh submarine deal with the United States that will see Australia acquire nuclear-powered subs.

Dr John Harries from the Australian Nuclear Association told Tom Elliott he feared it would too late before people realised nuclear power was the only way forward.

“It might be when we start seeing blackouts happening,” he said.
