Why there has been a spike in complaints against Fines Victoria
Victoria’s ombudsman says a 22 per cent jump in complaints against Fines Victoria in January, compared with the same month last year, is likely being driven by a return to “normal” enforcement.
Deborah Glass told Neil Mitchell because enforcement action had returned, complaints about that enforcement had also returned.
“There was a break during COVID when they didn’t chase people down for fines,” she said.
