Why this freeway exit smells like marijuana

Ever noticed a marijuana-like smell at the Chandler Highway exit of the Eastern Freeway?

Mark Hawthorne from The Age was alerted to the smell by a taxi driver recently.

Hope we can get an answer here. Why is there the smell of marijuana outbound side of the Chandler Highway exit of the Eastern Freeway? My taxi driver Sunny reckons he has noticed it for about a year now. I agree with him @theage @RossAndJohn

Turns out it’s bat droppings. Yep, bat droppings.

A quick bit of research revealed their poo smells like marijuana.
