Why Tom Elliott has questioned if Australia is slowly turning into America

Tom Elliott has questioned whether Australia has become the 51st state of America today.

American traditions such as Thanksgiving, Black Friday sales and Halloween have all increased in popularity throughout Australian society in recent years.

And the 3AW Mornings host has put the question out to listeners: “Are we becoming part of America?”

“Should we just give up and admit that Australia is now a state of the United States of America?”

Social researcher and demographer at McCrindle Research, Mark McCrindle, then admitted Australia is turning into America at a “quick rate”.
