An inner-sanctum chat with David Warner has lead Tony Jones to believe the public perception of David Warner could be all wrong.

Warner will play his final Test for Australia this week as the Aussies prepare to face Pakistan at the SCG, while he’s also announced he will be retiring from ODI cricket.

While the 37-year-old’s role in the 2018 ball-tampering saga saw him become a divisive figure in Australian cricket, Tony Jones said he was left impressed with Warner after meeting him during the 2019 Ashes.

“Maybe we’ve got him all wrong,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

Australian cricket great Glenn McGrath also weighed in, hoping that Warner was given a fitting send-off during his final Test match.
