Vaping has rapidly risen in popularity in recent times, with a paediatrician calling for regulation to stop young people who are addicted.

Paediatrician at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Dr Anthea Rhodes, has treated kids in grade six in primary school with nicotine addictions and implored the government to take action.

“I think this is a really big issue,” Dr Rhodes told Neil Mitchell.

“Young people don’t see this as abnormal anymore, and because of that, it’s happening everywhere.”

“Regulation absolutely has to be looked at.”

The Federal Health Minister, Mark Butler, is strongly considering imposing tough new rules on vaping in tonight’s federal budget.
