Why Victoria Police is urging landlords to think twice about leasing stores to tobacconists
Commercial landlords have been warned over the risk of leasing their shops to tobacconists as firebombed properties could miss out on payouts from insurers.
Crime reporter at The Age, Marta Pascual Juanola, says police have sent out two letters to landlords.
“One to landlords whose shops have been identified as being involved in the illicit tobacco trade, and one to landlords whose shops haven’t been involved in the tobacco trade, but are at risk,” she told Ross and Russel.
