A wild brawl has broken out at a children’s basketball game in Melbourne’s north on the weekend.

“It is distressing in the extreme,” 3AW Breakfast host Ross Stevenson said.

The Rumour File was this morning told the fight broke out between two coaches at an under-8s clash in Reservoir on Saturday, with referees and court supervisors forced to intervene.

The game at Darebin Community Sports Stadium was brought to a halt as agitated parents stepped in.
