There are major issues on the road network while thousands of properties are without power as damaging winds continue to lash parts of the state.

Three people are in hospital after a tree came down on the road at Sailors Falls, near Daylesford, this morning, causing a four-vehicle crash.

In Box Hill, a tree has fallen on a Mini.

“They’re OK … very lucky,” witness Craig told Heidi Murphy.

Damaging winds have also caused issues on EastLink in Melbourne’s south-east. Caller Mike told Neil Mitchell there are sheets of corrugated iron “flying around” on the road.

A power outage in the Malvern area which has seen power cut to traffic lights at almost a dozen intersections.

Peak gusts of almost 90 kilometres an hour have been recorded in elevated areas and a severe weather warning for damaging winds is in place for parts of the state.
