Win for parents as a council discontinues plan for controversial public amenity
A controversial toilet block in St Kilda which was approved to be built last year has now been discontinued following a council meeting last night.
Port Phillip mayor, Heather Cunsolo, says the planned toilet was planned to be built close to the entrance of a school.
“We had a strong campaign from parents around the school that resonated, they were very passionate concerns… we didn’t have an active contract, so it was about to go out to tender, so there was an opportunity to reconsider,” she told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Tom Elliott.
