Windsor Hotel to stay
The redevelopment of the Windsor Hotel has been approved by VCAT and shall receive a $330 million redevelopment despite the State Government’s attempts to block the move.
The Halim Group has been given the go-ahead to build a twenty-seven storey tower behind the historic building with work expected to finish in 2020.
Adi Halim, Hotel Director of the Halim Group, told Tom Elliott the approval was a big relief and they will keep as much of the original building as possible.
‘All the rooms in the heritage wing will be retained,’ Mr Halim said.
The State Government says it has no plans to appeal the decision.
