Wine: Just drink it, don’t discuss it
Tom confessed he’s ‘a bit of a bogan’ when it comes to wine.
“I don’t like to swivel it around or sniff it,” he said on the show this afternoon.
“I like to drink it, I don’t like to discuss it.”
Wine expert and Sensory Psychologist at Central Queensland University, Dr Alex Russell said drinking expensive wine doesn’t make you a snob.
“It’s probably about showing off a little bit but also about making a good impression,” Dr Russell said.
“Price is a pretty bad indicator of quality in general.”
But Dr Russell did admit he often didn’t tell people about his job, so he didn’t have to talk about wine.
“I don’t tend to tell people I’m into wine,” he said.
