Wine tips for entertaining this Christmas

Entertaining at Christmas time can be a headache, especially with the forecast top of 35 degrees.

Fortunately, wine guru Matt Skinner knows just how to deal with it.

Matt told Darren James the trick is to keep it simple.

‘There’s a tendency to wheel out the big guns on Christmas Day,’ he said.

‘But if you’ve got 35-degree heat, the big guns aren’t going to cope so well. Wine’s not something that loves temperature.’

Matt said the variety of food – and preferences – at the table means it’s best to serve a general, all-purpose wine.
