Witness’ incredible account of Bourke Street car rampage

A witness to Monday’s worrying Bourke Street car rampage has described the shocking scene that unfolded in the heart of the city.

Police have arrested four people in relation to the incident, which saw a stolen car speed through the CBD.

The vehicle came to a stop in the Bourke Street Mall, where witness Richard Hague was out having lunch.

“Four people jumped from the moving car and ran into the cosmetics area of Myer,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“It shocked a lot of people … the car was still in gear and moving forward.”
