Witness tells Neil Mitchell about harrowing armed robbery at Westfield Plenty Valley

LATEST: The search continues for at least four offenders following a brazen, daylight smash and grab at the Michael Hill Jewellers at Westfield Plenty Valley in Mill Park yesterday.

Witnesses called 3AW minutes after it happened describing how four men armed with hammers attack the store, fleeing in a luxury SUV.

The BMW has since been recovered but the offenders remain on the run.

Witness Vicky told Neil Mitchell it was pandemonium after four men robbed the store shortly before 12pm yesterday.

‘The screaming was horrendous, absolutely horrendous,’ she said.

‘They looked like kids… their stature, they didn’t look like grown men.’

Vicky said it’s upsetting that such an incident could happen in Melbourne.

‘I can’t believe I witnessed such horrific violence in my beautiful home town.’
