Woman allegedly assaults police while being arrested at Carlton
A woman has allegedly assaulted police officers while being arrested at Carlton on Monday afternoon.
3AW Drive was alerted to the incident by several callers.
A 34-year-old woman of no fixed address was wanted on a number of outstanding warrants and was confronted by police at a BP service station at the intersection of Elgin and Rathdowne streets.
During the arrest, it’s alleged the woman lashed out at officers, who were forced to deploy capsicum spray.
The officers received minor injuries.
The woman has been taken to hospital for observation under police guard.
