A female driver has allegedly failed a breath test, moments after a press conference with police about the dangers of drink-driving had begun.

Police set up the media opportunity with a booze bus on Normanby Road, South Wharf, shortly after 9am on Friday.

The very first driver police pulled over failed an evidentiary breath test reading.

Another driver allegedly failed their test just minutes later.

Police said it was a timely reminder about the dangers of driving the morning after a night of drinking alcohol.
