Woman attacked with an axe at Fountain Gate Shopping Centre

A woman aged in her 30s has suffered upper body injuries when she was attacked with an axe at a nail salon at Fountain Gate Shopping Centre.

Neil Mitchell spoke with Trevor, who said he believes the woman was fleeing her alleged attacker and sought refuge in the nail salon when she was attacked around 10am on Monday.

‘There was a bit of pandemonium there until security and the other police got on site,’ ?he told Neil Mitchell.

The victim is in a stable condition at The Alfred hospital and police have a man in custody.

The centre was placed in lockdown moments after the attack.
