Woman dies after being dragged by truck in Donvale

A woman has died after being dragged by a truck in Melbourne’s outer-east this morning.

Investigators have been told a man and woman were about to unload an excavator on Wattamolla Ridge, Donvale about 7.20am.

A truck which had the excavator on an attached trailer, began moving, and the woman was dragged by the truck and sustained fatal injuries.

WorkSafe and Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the exact cause of the incident.

Paramedics were called however the woman, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

Police, paramedics, and fire crews remain on scene, the circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.
