Woman expresses concerns about man approaching ‘young boys’ at St Kilda skate park

A concerned woman has told Neil Mitchell she witnessed what she suspects was a child grooming attempt at St Kilda skate park at the weekend.

Paula told 3AW she was on the St Kilda foreshore on Sunday, wandering around the market and nearby skate park, when she noticed a young man approach two boys.

“They would have been under 10,” she said.

Paula, who works as a school counsellor, said she moved closer to see if she could hear what was going on.

“You get a gut instinct about these things,” she said.

“I heard the man say he worked for vans and he could get some sponsorship in the form of sneakers.

“It made me feel really uneasy.”

She contacted police but was left disappointed by their response.
