A woman has been charged following the alleged hit-run at Coburg that left a 13-year-old girl fighting for life.

It’s understood the 41-year-old Sunshine North woman handed herself into police, at the office of her legal representative, shortly before 11am on Thursday.

It’s alleged the 13-year-old girl was struck by a car while riding her bike on Sussex and Bell streets in Coburg on Sunday night.

She remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The woman has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury, failing to stop after a serious injury collision, failing to render assistance after a serious injury collision and failing to exchange name and address or report a collision.
