Woman killed in Geelong house fire

A woman has died in a Geelong house fire.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal blaze at a home on Upper Skene Street in Newtown.

Emergency services were called to the fire at about 2am.

Sadly a woman found inside the property died at the scene.

A crime scene has been established and an arson chemist will attend the property this morning.
