What’s this?

A woman has posted on a residents Facebook group with a photo of a glass of water which appears milky white and dirty.

She questioned whether anyone knew why the water looked like this.

Caller Rob called in to Neil Mitchell’s program with an answer.

‘Generally when they are replacing water mains and they turn the water back on you’ve got that instant gush of water pressure, it creates a lot of miniature air bubbles which makes the water look cloudy and dirty,’ he said.

‘It’s not anything to worry about, after a couple of days it will settle.’
