Woman rescued from suspicious apartment fire in South Melbourne

A hoarder has been rescued from her burning apartment in South Melbourne overnight.

Fire crews were called to the third floor flat on Dorcas Street just before 11pm on Thursday. 

MFB Commander Dan Gatt says fire fighters put their lives on the line to break through the security door and rescue the 40-year-old woman who had burns to both legs.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.
