Woman stabbed in St Kilda, man on the run

A woman has been stabbed in St Kilda.

Police say a man approached the woman on Inkerman Street near Market Street about 2.20am.

He demanded cash before stabbing the woman a number of times before fleeing towards Barkley Street.

The victim was taken to hospital.

Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police don’t believe anything was stolen.

The stabber is still on the run.
