Women-only ‘Ladies Lounge’ in popular museum caught up in legal dispute with male visitor

Popular museum down in Hobart, the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona), has been caught up in a legal dispute after a male visitor launched an anti-discrimination case.

The male visitor was denied entry into the “Ladies Lounge” and has now sued the museum, which has resulted in a tribunal hearing.

Partner with Henderson and Ball lawyers, Justin Lawrence, told Ross and Russ the case is “defensible”.
